Know Your Sheep ReviewFound this book at a National Trust shop in the UK on summer holiday. Photos are clear, information is accurate though I wish a bit more detailed; the original audience - and acknowledged research helpers - were local children from farming backgrounds, who were able to add "professional" touches to the descriptions.
I brought this to a specialty dog show for herding breeds; the handlers, owners, and other spectators thought the book was brilliant! It was so popular, I had a hard time getting it back from all of its new fans.Know Your Sheep OverviewFor each breed he dedicates two pages, the left being a full page high-quality picture and the right giving a brief but comprehensive description of the appearance, history and uses of each sheep. Only the size of a postcard, the book fits perfectly into a rucksack or pocket so is ideal for the interested rambler who is keen to discover more about the flock fleeing from him at the time. Clear color photographs taken of sheep 'straight from the field' illustrate the immense diversity within this species.
