Oma Finds a Miracle ReviewOma's family lives on a farm. One night in a bad snowstorm, one of the cows comes home late, but she is noticeably thinner. Oma sends her children out to look for the newborn calf, but they couldn't find it in the snowstorm. They go to bed sad, knowing that the calf would probably die during the night.
The next morning, Oma's children go off to school, and her husband, Opa (the dad) goes to work. Oma (the mother) lets the mother cow out into the snow, hoping that she will lead Oma to the newborn calf. Sure enough, soon they find the calf. Oma is happy to find the calf still alive, but she needed to get it back to the barn right away to save it. Will Oma be able to move the calf to safety?
Oma Finds a Miracle is a really cute, inspirational and miraculous tale of finding a pure white calf in the middle of a Minnesota blizzard. Being a northerner used to lots of snow, I understand what a difficult task this would be. My five-year-old daughter loved the story and the pictures and wanted us to read it to her over and over. My two-year-old wasn't as impressed with the story, so it is better geared toward older preschoolers or kindergartners.
The story is interesting, and I wanted to know if Oma would be able to find the calf.
