The Deep Black Pond ReviewCongratulations to Morgan Kostival for penning a children's book sure to capture the interests of children, moms and dads. This story has something for everyone ---- from gross, dark pond scum and the threat of war to the drama of miscommunication and the preoccupation of sunbathing. (Even the Jersey Shore cast members could be captivated!) The adorable main character, MIMI, will surely get the "awwww" vote from both youngsters and adult.
This tale takes a look at several topics: longing for acceptance, vanity, redemption, fear, and loss. Yet, it maintains a fluidity that ties it all together without becoming too cluttered. However, should a reader feel lost and comtemplate a re-read, it is even more enjoyable a second time through.Just be prepared---a great fable message awaits!
In this second release of Kostival's, his photography, again, is the WOW-factor. Wasn't sure where he was going with this one during the first few pages, but so glad that I waited out the journey.
